UK Property investment hit six-year high in Q4 2021

Property investment in the UK hit its highest level in more than six years in Q4 2021, Property Week can reveal.
Exclusive data from Lambert Smith Hampton’s latest UK Investment Transactions (UKIT) report shows £17.3bn of property changed hands in Q4, which was the strongest quarter since Q2 2015. It was also well up on the £14bn generated in Q3 2021.
The deals completed in Q4 2021 included 16 in excess of £200m, taking the quarter to 28% above the five-year quarterly average.
Industrial and logistics deals totalled £4.3bn in Q4, accounting for 28% of total volume in 2021.
The hotel sector also boasted strong Q4 investment volumes, driven by portfolio deals and single-asset deals including Henderson Park’s £550m acquisition of 12 Hilton Hotels and Goldman Sachs’ £143m purchase of The Belfry Hotel, Scotland.
